Amazing Life-like Sculptures

The art world is booming with super-creative artists.  From perspective chalk on the sidewalk to shadow art I posted in this blog earlier.  This new artist I just came across Ron Mueck is amazing.  His sculptures are ridiculously life-like and he takes it one step further by playing with the size.  He has experience creating large pieces, he worked on the movie Labyrinth.

Paris Hilton DJ

Who knew that Paris Hilton could DJ? Apparently she's been doing well making upwards of $350,000 a night and getting steady gigs at one night club.  She is also planning on an album with Cash Money Records. It's good to see her developing a trade and I'm glad she's now found her groove (pun intended).

The Beginning Of The Planet of The Apes

An unidentified militiaman in Africa thought it was a good idea to give a chimpanzee an AK 47.  Watch the chimp's reaction at the end...

Plants Don't Grow Near Cell Signal

Ninth-graders from Denmark did an experiment with plants near a cell-phone and they apparently do not grow near the signal.  They also put themselves to the test and slept with their cell phones near their heads. They found out that they had problems concentrating the next day...

40 Year Old Baby Inside An 82 Year Old Woman

This is a head scratcher... there is a condition known as lithopedia where a baby is conceived outside the uterus in the abdomen and the mother's body calcifies the fetus to prevent infection.

Simple Way To Test Your Batteries

Here's an easy, free, and effective way to test your batteries.  Just bounce them.  Good ones don't bounce and stay upright, bad ones bounce and fall over.  See for yourself...

Airline Brings Christmas Cheer For Passengers...Oprah Style

This is what I'm talking about.  West Jet Airlines set up a kiosk where travelers on one flight were asked by Santa (via video conference) what they wanted for Christmas.  All of their wishes were taken down by airline employees and as the passengers were in flight the employees went on a shopping spree to get each and every one of them.  After the passengers had de-planed and were waiting at baggage claim, instead of seeing their bags come down, wrapped presents came down the chute with their names on them.  You have to see their reactions: priceless...

Shadow Art

Artists are by nature creative and this is definitely one of those creations that stretches your perception of things.  This artist creates images by playing with the way light creates shadow.

Easy Way To Peel An Orange

Here’s another something to blow your mind…there is a more efficient way to peel oranges.  Yes, I know it’s amazing right? I too have wanted an orange on occasion but decided to drink orange juice because I dreaded getting orange peel in my fingernails.

Well one particular life-hacker has an ingenious way of getting into the juicy orange without getting the juice on you or having to clean your nails afterward.

Here's the demonstration from the website Jewel Pie

Men Steal Food From 15 Lions

Whatever you call it this takes some cojones to pull off.  These three men walk up on 15 lions and steal part of their kill and then walk off like they were supposed to be there.  You might consider this for your next corporate team building exercise...lol.

Waking Up At Night? There's A History Behind It

Did you know that back before the turn of the century most people slept twice during the night?  We had what researchers call “two sleeps.”  This was due in large part to the lack of electricity so when the sun went down there was no light except by candles.  People would go to bed and then get up around 3am and pray, read, or have sex.  Then they would go back to sleep and get up at dawn.

So the next time you get up in the middle of the night thinking that you are the only one who can’t sleep, think again. Your ancestors were doing the same thing and chances are many folks still are.
